The Veterinary Evidence-Based Medicine Society (or VetGEMS for short) is a club that puts research into the spotlight! We encourage students to engage with veterinary literature, and we host events to teach students how to interpret and apply research in order to practice evidence-based medicine. This club is ideal for anyone who values evidence-based medicine in a clinical setting, as well as those considering a career in research. Academic skills are incredibly useful for veterinary students and veterinary professionals alike. Whether it is a student writing case discussion, a farm vet deciding if a new drug is worth the money, or a hospital intern running a clinical trial, we will all use research in our careers. VetGEMS teaches students how to meaningfully engage with research so that practicing evidence-based medicine can be like a second nature!

Our events:
• INSPIRE research forum where students present research projects they have done during their degree
• Monthly student-led journal clubs where we discuss cutting-edge veterinary research
• Clinician journal clubs where you can discuss veterinary research with clinicians, interns, and residents
• Academic seminars
